Hey guys, sorry about that hiatus yet again haha.
Over this short break I've managed to try a few more bases so I thought I'll talk a little more about this topic before moving on to another category.
But before we move onto that, thank you so much for the reader email once again!
It was very interesting to read about your experiences, keep dem emails coming ^^
Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation
In the previous post I forgot to mention about this product because I seldom use it plus it wasn't something that I bought so it has just been sitting in my make up pouch somewhere, often forgotten.

Overall a pretty good product. I'd say it has pretty good coverage and gives a perfect looking, powdery matte finish if glowy skin is not your thing. However, because it is powder foundation, I do not think it is a good product for people with dry skin.
Great thing about this product though, is that it comes in a great variety of shades! A total of 14 to be exact! Such a culture shock from korean cosmetics which seldom stray far from their usual no.21 (Fair) and no.23 (Natural) which are, in my opinion, both pretty light shades that definitely does not suit everyone, even some of the koreans. Judging from the awkward difference in shades between some of their faces and necks. oops.
Anyway, the reason why I seldom use this product is because the shade that I have (Light Neutral) is kinda dull on me and that makes me look kinda sick for some reason and I don't like it. Plus I guess I'm already used to that slightly 'sticky' feeling that 'glowy products' usually gives so a powdery finish is just kinda weird for me haha.
Nature Republic Nature Origin Cushion CC

Lasting Power: ★ ★ ☆
This is actually the first time I deviated from my Laneige BB cushion to try another cushion and at first I naively thought "okay, all cushions are probably the same. They all look about the same so how different could they be right?" but boy, I thought wrong.
There really is a diff between different cushions, my friends.
Overall, I liked how simple and classic the packaging looked, very natural, living up to their name. What I didn't like so much was what was inside. Firstly, the formula was very watery, much to my surprise as I was used to the density of the Laneige one. How should I describe this...
Remember when we used to paint when we were kids? So imagine you have one of those plastic palettes with the small dents for your paint and one of them was filled with water and after painting your favourite mermaid princess's face beige (because that was always the colour we go for for skin tone at that age amiright?), you wash your brush in that little dent with water.
yes thats how watery the formula is.
Which I guess is good for everyday wear, especially on those days you don't feel like putting on too much make up but still want to cover the basics. Its so super lightweight but, my friends, the other side of the coin is of course the lack of coverage.
Another thing that also get along well with me would be its sponge. I remember how horrified I was when I went to buy a Laneige sponge and it costs me 5 bucks. Oh wait since we're on this topic, is it just me or Laneige sponge spoils easily? Mine always end up falling apart near the end of the refill pack like excuse me I'm not done yet guys?!? just hang in there a bit more?!!
wait what were we talking about here...
Right the Nature Republic cushion sponge. Its soooooo thin I could nearly feel my fingerprints on my cheeks with each pat. I am, of course, exaggerating but yes the sponge is thin.
Okay, by now you can probably tell that in my ranking of korean road shop cosmetics, Nature Republic is not the first. Nor the second. (Maybe I'll do a post on my personal ranking of Korean cosmetics next time! Would you guys like to read about that? Send me an email!)
PONY EFFECT Everlasting Cushion Foundation
As mentioned in the previous post, I was over the moon when my favourite make up artist Pony came up with her own line of make up but was slightly disappointed with the seamless foundation that I got so I wasn't too excited when she came up with these cushion foundations and other bases. However,
while watching this other youtuber (
Edward Avila - watching his reviews is one of my guilty pleasures I have to say hahaha) review a whole bunch of cushions and the greeeeaat review he gave for this Pony Effect one, I decided to give it a try.

Overall, it really is a great product! I especially love the packaging. I mean hello, just look at how sleek and chic it is, all dark and mysterious with its rounded edges and magnetic opening instead of the usual click shut ones.
Formula wise, I guess it is an improvement from the seamless foundation as it is slightly denser. A little bit of product can go a long way but the colours are the same 5 as the other one. And somehow it leaves a really nice finish and makes your skin look so good in pictures.
And the sponge is SO SPONGEY, sorry for the lack of vocabulary here.
Okay if I were to compare the 3 sponges, the NR one is like 2 layers of crepe, the Laneige one is like a layer of sponge cake while the PE one is like the dough layer of a dorayaki. Does that make sense?
However, one thing that I dont get is the lack of a mirror. Instead of a mirror its just this matte surface that looks like I haven't peel off the layer of protective sticker above the mirror. Even though I rarely make use of the compact mirror in these things but it still kinda bothers me.
Another downside is that this cushion is also kinda on the pricey side.
Well okay I guess that's the end of this foundation post! Maybe I'll continue to try other foundations but so far the Pony Effect one is my favourite.
Next post I'll be talking about brow products so stay tuned!
With love, T.L.T.
